The Distribution of Active Faults in the Philippines (February 2000 Edition) is presented by the Active Faults Mapping Group of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). This first edition is published by PHIVOLCS on March 2000, which include several maps of varying scales covering Metro Manila and the whole Philippines with accompanying text. Maps in this edition is comprised of twelve (12) large-scale (1:10,000) maps covering various portions of Metro Manila, two (2) smaller scale (1:50,000) maps for the National Capitol Region (NCR), and one (1) distribution map of active faults in the Philippines (1:1,000,000)- all are available in page sizes. Actual map sizes, both in color and monochrome, are also available by request at nominal fee to cover publication-related costs. This edition is published to serve the needs and the public clamor for primary information on active faults that could be utilized for various applications. Moreover, the Active Fault Mapping Group hopes that this edition would be of service to research and training especially in the fields of geology, geomorphology, geophysics, engineering, and disaster management.
