INTRODUCTION
This communication outlines the field
procedures used successfully in locating
and delimiting disseminated copper
mineralization in the Mountain Province,
Luzon Island, Philippines. It is
intended to be a guide to geochemical
prospecting for similar deposits in
similar environments. Although the
methods described here may not be
suitable for all copper occurrents, it
is considered that the rapidity and
simplicity of the technique, and the low
cost factor make it an attractive aid to
exploration. A more detailed discussion
of the theory and practice of
geochemical prospecting is given in
"Summary Report on Exploration for
Stockwork Copper Deposits, Sto. Nino
Area, Mountain Province, Philippines"
which is being prepared for distribution
by the Bureau of Mines.
