The occurrence of Cretaceous
foraminifera in the Philippines has been
recorded as early as 1950 but detailed
study of the fauna has never been
undertaken. It was only in 1964 when
paleontologists of the Philippine Bureau
of Mines started to undertake a more
intensive research on the subject to
trace the morphogenetic development of
the fauna and to establish the
foraminiferal sequence within the
different Cretaceous stages represented
in the Philippines.
This report is based on the data so far
gathered from the continuing study which
has been carried only to the limits of
the details furnished by available
materials.
