ABSTRACT
The present geophysical prospecting
methods available for exploration are
summarized and their possible
application to Philippine deposits are
discussed. It is believed that in
conjunction with geochemistry and modern
geological concepts, geophysical methods
can be applied to a greater extent in
the Philippines to: 1) quickly delimit
and assess the importance of mineral
occurrences and 2) guide drilling
programs. Surveys showed that both the
magnetic and the induced potential
combined with resistivity methods proved
very useful in porphyry copper, massive
base metal sulfides and nickel deposits.
The average costs of geophysical surveys
is summarized.
