ABSTRACT
The BCI orebody in Rapu-Rapu Island,
Albay is a volcanogenic sulphide deposit
containing pyrite, 1.8% Cu, 2.5% Zn,
0.8% Pb plus 40 grams per ton Ag and 2
grams per ton Au. The orebody is
overlain by quartzofeldspathic muscovite
schists and underlain by a thick zone of
metamorphosed spilitic lava flows
intercalated with agglomerates. The
deposit is believed to have been formed
subaqueously by volcanic-fumarolic
activity which occurred periodically
during volcanism, and concentrated by
folding (Hutchinson, 1973).
